Segment your participants with Attributes & Filters

Today we've launched a new way to target and recruit research participants through the Ribbon widget on your website: User attributes.

Segment your participants with Attributes & Filters

Finding the right participant to speak to can often be half the battle when conducting user interviews. Identifying participants who match your recruitment criteria and are willing to speak to you can often feel like finding a needle in a haystack.

We want to make this easier, and so, today, we've launched a new way for you to target and recruit research participants through the Ribbon widget on your website: User Attributes.

User attributes let you tie information to participants as they navigate through your website and then use that information to filter who you want to recruit for an interview through the Ribbon widget.

Suppose you're running an e-commerce website selling groceries and only want to interview users who have just bought a box of chocolates. With user attributes, you can tie that attribute to potential participants as they navigate through your website and then recruit users that match that attribute when you start recruiting participants on Ribbon.

Here's a quick look at what implementing that could look like using the new attributes feature:

window.ribbon('attribute', 'purchased-product', 'chocolate box');

That's all there is to it. When you start recruiting, you then filter your widget to only display to users who have that attribute set:

Once you've set up your attributes, you can filter which potential participants should see the Ribbon widget without having to edit any code, making it quicker to recruit from a specific segment of users.
